George Addo Jnr Named Lead English Commentator for AFCON 2023
New World Television, the official broadcaster for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), has appointed George Addo Jnr as its lead English commentator. A Ghanaian sports journalist based in the UK, Addo Jnr brings years of experience covering major global football events. His new role will see him lead the English-language commentary team throughout the tournament in Ivory Coast, providing fans with expert analysis and engaging coverage. He will make his debut in this position by calling the opening match between Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau, alongside a distinguished panel that includes Anthony Pla, former Cameroon international Sébastien Bassong, and ex-Togo captain Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor.
