Liverpool kick off Steven Gerrard's plan
Liverpool may never completely replace Gerrard's talented presence. But that hasn't stopped the club from trying several times in the years since his departure.
Naby Keïta took the No. 8, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain arrived in midfield after declaring his admiration for Gerrard. At Anfield last weekend, Liverpool said goodbye to both.
Especially with Keïta, it's a matter of having a midfielder who can do everything. While Gerrard has set an extremely high standard, the times the Guinean has been in good form at least shows his ability to do it all. And in the last 10 games, Jones has proven to Klopp that he can fulfill the same role well.
No one is claiming he will be the next Gerrard, but he could at least be a more than enough replacement for the latest attempt to replicate the legend's qualities, as Klopp continues his search for a moldy player. that template for his midfield.
