Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of Ghana and the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer for the upcoming presidential elections, has announced his intention to retain Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam as Finance Minister if elected on December 7, 2024. Dr. Amin Adam, who is also the Member of Parliament for the Karaga Constituency, has been serving in the Finance Ministry, earning high praise for his performance.

Speaking during a tour of the Northern Region on Tolon radio, Dr. Bawumia commended Dr. Amin Adam for his exemplary leadership and competence in managing the nation’s finances. "He is one of the best Finance Ministers we have had in the country. I will retain him not because of regional considerations but because of his competence and proven capabilities," Dr. Bawumia stated.

The Vice President emphasized that under his leadership, the NPP has implemented several impactful policies that have improved the lives of Ghanaians. He contrasted his record with that of former President John Dramani Mahama, claiming that Mahama's tenure lacked innovative policies and tangible solutions to the country's challenges.

"When you vote for me, I will serve you for eight years, but Mahama will only serve four. I have introduced 33 significant policies as Vice President, whereas Mahama has no notable policies to his name during his time in office," Dr. Bawumia asserted. He further urged Ghanaians to consider the development projects and reforms undertaken by the NPP government as reasons to grant the party another term.

Dr. Bawumia highlighted the NPP’s achievements, including economic reforms, infrastructure development, and social policies, as evidence of the party’s commitment to national progress. He assured voters of continued transformation and stability if given the mandate to lead Ghana.

With just weeks to the elections, Dr. Bawumia's announcement signals his confidence in Dr. Amin Adam’s ability to sustain economic growth and navigate fiscal challenges. His remarks also underline the NPP’s focus on continuity and competence as central themes of their campaign.

The Vice President concluded by urging Ghanaians to make an informed choice, emphasizing the importance of leadership that prioritizes the nation’s development and well-being.
